Today’s the day. Very shortly we will hear whether or not California will of uphold Proposition 8 which takes away my peeps’ civil rights or whether they shut that shit down. CA has always been a progressive state and yet the East Coast is kicking our asses in this fight. Whatever the decision may be, this fight is far from over. For all the little gays growing up in small towns all across this country thinking that they’re bad or wrong for the feelings that they try so desperately to ignore, you are not alone. And you are NOT wrong. “They” are. So now, we shall wait, and we shall see …
The California Supreme Court might be ruling on Prop 8 TOMORROW! Inside sources are saying that it is highly likely. However they will give 24 hours notice so we shall soon see. If the ruling is tomorrow and it’s in favor of equal rights, it will be a wonderful way to celebrate the day before Harvey Milk’s birthday.
If it happens and it’s not in favor of love and freedom for all, then it will be a sad sad day. I’ll keep y’all updated when I hear anything further. Most likely through TWITTER. Love you ALL!
I’ve been listening all morning and feel almost sick to my stomach. Not because I feel it’s going bad but mostly because once again, my fate is in the hands of a few people. That really scares me. If you wanna watch as well click here and then click on sfgtv2.
This video just moved me to tears at my desk. Luckily no one saw so the fact that I have a heart is still a secret. Whew! I one day hope to find someone that I fall so deeply and madly in love with that I want to walk down the isle for. And I just hope that when that day comes, I have the equal rights to do so. Pleez click HERE and sign the petition to invalidate Prop 8. Thank you. Muah!
Fools! Prop 8 and the hate that surrounds it’s creation isn’t just pissing off us gays. Some of Hollywood’s best are jumping on board to help us fight for our equal rights. I LOVE this.
I have to say that on November 5th I woke up with an immense feeling of sadness and hurt over the outcome of Prop 8. I would NEVER vote against a groups civil rights regardless of my religious beliefs. And just what are my religious beliefs? Well I was brought up strong in the Catholic faith. Have received baptism, first communion and even though I disagreed with most beliefs of the church by the time I was a teenager, out of respect for my family, I completed my confirmation. What I know today deep down in my soul is that there is indeed a power greater than myself and whatever that power is, it has sent many messengers to us in hopes of spreading one thing. Universal love! Do unto thy neighbor as you would have them do unto you. We are not the ones to judge. These messenger, like Jesus, Buddha, the Dalai Lama have all spread the word of love. Unfortunately greed and power get a hold of the message and it is rewritten to instill fear and hate and judgement. I love you the way you are, and if our views differ, I respect yours and can keep mine. MY God allows me to love you even if I don’t understand you.
Anywayz, back to Prop 8. My sadness is lessened each day as I see my peeps stepping out from the shadows to shine their lights on the world. The gay marriage ban measure was merely the catalyst that my community needed on our long trudge to equal rights. And mark my words, we too will be free.
Lastly, Dan Savage made us proud last night on AC360. Speak up sistah!
A little something about me that you might not know is that I LOVE “Ugly Betty”. What’s not to love? Sassy beautiful people always trying to get ahead or just stay afloat all while poor Betty runs around like a damn chicken with her head cut off. I LOVE it
Now those crazy kids have given me another reason to adore them. This Vote No on Prop 8 ad. So if you won’t listen this ugly boy, please listen to these ugly folks.
Some a-hole sent his daughter to her kindergarten class stocked up with “Vote No on Prop 8″ bumper stickers to hand out to her classmates.
Bitch Pleez! I understand that people feel strongly on both ends of the debate and the need to get their opinions out in the open is urgent in such a tight race. But using your children to do your dirty work is wrong on so many levels. Wow.
This is my good friend Dusty who just happens to be happily married in the state of California to his lover of about 10 years, but that’s not why I’m putting him on my blog. I just wanted to pose the following question to my lovely readers, do you believe us homosexuals are born gay?
I have no doubt about it but I’m just wondering what you all think. Oh, I have also added a picture of Dusty from his childhood after the jump. He’s the kid on the right.
